Net banking (also called internet banking or online banking) lets you access your bank account through a web browser. Log in to your bank's website with your user ID and password, and you can perform almost every banking transaction that you would do at a branch.
Services include fund transfers (NEFT, RTGS, IMPS), bill payments, fixed deposit management, loan applications, tax payments, and investment transactions. Net banking is especially useful for tasks that need a larger screen — reviewing detailed statements, managing multiple accounts, or filling out complex forms.
Security layers include OTP (One-Time Password), virtual keyboards, session timeouts, and transaction passwords. While mobile banking apps have overtaken net banking in transaction volume, net banking remains preferred for complex operations and by corporate customers who need detailed dashboards and bulk transaction capabilities.
