Bounce Rate

Bounce rate is a critical website metric that tells you how many visitors land on your site and leave without clicking anything else. If 100 people visit your homepage and 70 of them leave immediately without exploring further, your bounce rate is 70%. It's essentially a measure of engagement — or lack thereof.

What's a good bounce rate? Generally, 26% to 40% is excellent, 41% to 55% is average, 56% to 70% is high, and anything above 70% is a red flag. However, context matters. If you run a blog or news site where people come, read one article, and leave satisfied, a high bounce rate isn't necessarily bad. But for e-commerce sites or landing pages designed to drive conversions, a high bounce rate usually signals a problem with content, design, or user experience.
