Referral Program

A referral program is essentially word-of-mouth marketing gone digital. Companies incentivize their existing customers to bring in new ones by offering rewards. When a customer recommends a product or service to someone they know, and that person signs up or makes a purchase, the original customer gets rewarded. It's a win-win for everyone involved.

Here's a real-world example: imagine you use a food delivery app. The app gives you a referral code to share with friends. When your friend uses that code to sign up and places their first order, you get a discount coupon or cashback. That's a referral program in action. Uber does this brilliantly — when you refer a new user, both of you get a ride discount. It's simple, effective, and costs the company far less than traditional advertising.
